The compsns. contain nitrogen, bound as ammonia and nitrate, phosphorus and potassium, as well as conventional trace elements. The ratio between the nitrogen bound as ammonium ions and that bound as nitrate ions should be 40:60 to 50:50, pref. 42:58 to 45:55. They are useful for re-establishing soil pH at optimum level without use of additional chemical products.
