The tissue retentionelement is provided with a multiplicity of teethcapable of piercing and holding in place adjacentsoft tissue when the implant is driven into the bonestructure of a patient. Since the tissue retentionelement is separable from the implant, the same elementcan be used in combination with different bone implants.
