Docket M-411HAND-HELD LABELERAbstract of the DisclosureThere is disclosed a hand-held apparatus for applyingpressure sensitive labels releasably secured to a web ofsupporting material. The web and labels which it carries arearranged in a roll. The apparatus includes a housing whichrotatably mounts the label roll. The housing has a handle. Thehousing also mounts a delaminator at which labels are delaminatedfrom the web. An actuator disposed at the handle is coupled toa driver. Actuation of the actuator advances the web todelaminate labels. A curved leaf spring mounted to the housingextends partially about the label roll. A pair of fingerscantilevered to the leaf spring straddle the label roll toobviate excessive telescoping of the label roll. The leaf springpreferably extends in close proximity to the outer surface of afull label roll to prevent excessive unwinding of the roll. Inaddition the leaf spring effects gradual paying out of the webfrom the label roll.
