In the width of the pelvis measurement (BA) plus the extra widths required for stitching and buttoning is traced the upper part of the jacket by placing the upper points (A,B) of the armhole contour (4) perpendicular to the pelvis line (BA), and the armhole is extended by a slot (C G D) which is held open with the aid of an attached piece (5) whose upper edge forms the missing part of the armhole contour (4) and which re-establishes the usual chest measurement, half of the jacket thus being produced in a single piece with a marked saving of fabric and stitching length.
