A method for mounting a reusable form for sealing the joint (13) when inserting prefabricated joint-bridging structures comprises the steps: - an inflatable hose-like expansion profile is introduced into the joint in a pressureless state, - the expansion profile is at least partly inflated so that it is supported against the opposite concrete banks (5) of the joint edges, - the joint-bridging structure (6) is then inserted into the recesses (11) so as to cover the joint (13) and thus also the expansion profile, and - finally the expansion profile is fully inflated, or inflated to a further stage, so that it is also supported against edge plates (7) of the joint-bridging structure (6) which are opposite with respect to the joint. A form suitable for this essentially consists of a hose-like expansion profile made of elastomeric material which has one or more chambers (3, 4) extending in the longitudinal direction, these being sealed at the front ends in each case by means of closing plugs.
