The invention relates to a closure device for memorandum books, notebooks, pocket diaries, etc, which is so designed that it consists of a closure member bent into the form of a hook or closure hook and capable of retaining a pencil, this closure hook being provided with means which allow it to be secured by latching when first introduced into the slide rail and to be moved by displacement within this slide rail between a closed position, in which the hook covers the narrow side of the memorandum book and prevents the opening thereof, and an open position in which it permits the use of the memorandum book.
