Adjustable angle edge lamp for airport runways - uses tapered upper section in lower section, adjustable by three screws placed round bottom of upper section

The lamp is set into the ground at the edge of the runway, The base (1) which is set into the ground comprises two hollow columns. The upper column (4) has a flange (54) at the top to support the lamp cover (6) and provides sealed passages (98) for the connecting wires to the lamp. The upper walls are near parallel, then the walls taper more sharply near the bottom. This cone fits inside a lightly tapered support base (3) which has screws (40) at 120 degree intervals which are used to adjust the angle of the lamp. A flange (21) fixed to the bottom of the lower section bolts to a foundation block (7). Both flange and foundation block have slotted inserts (16,32) to allow lateral insertion of the bolts (14). A plug (20) at the bottom provides electrical contact.
