The invention relates to a labelling station of a labelling machine for the labelling of articles with a plurality of labels lying closely one above the other or overlapping. For this purpose, extraction elements, revolving on a circular path and at the same time rotating or pivoted non-uniformly about their own axes, roll with their glue-coatable receiving surfaces on label-supply stations arranged in succession and thereby extract a label from each supply station. Since the labels are extracted by one and the same extraction element at two label-supply stations arranged in succession, the transfer of the labels onto the receiving surface at the shortest possible distance between them or even in an overlapping manner is possible. By means of an additional glue-coating device which is assigned to the first label-supply station, the labels extracted from the first label-supply station can be coated with glue at limited points on the front side, for example by spraying on glue, so that the labels extracted from the second label-supply station bond with one another in the overlapping regions and make a composite label. Both labels individually one above the other and the composite label are transferred simultaneously onto the articles to be labelled. IMAGE
