Clamping ring for mounting cross arms on electric power poles - uses two half rings which are elastic and have serrated edges to grip the pole so the ring does not slip with pole shrinkage
The clamping ring is fitted to wooden posts (2) and is used to support arms (16) which carry electric power lines. To overcome slipping of the collar if the wood shrinks, the clamp is made elastic and has edges which press into the surface of the pole. The ring comprises two semi-circular parts (10a,10b) each having two lateral arms (13) ending in radial tabs (14), which are bolted (8) to the corresponding tab on the other part to fix the ring in place. The lateral arms (13) are formed so they are partly clear of the post, and are grooved to give them elasticity. The edges of the lateral arms are bent inward and may be toothed to improve the grip of the clamping ring on the pole surface.
