Removal of Organo-Lead Ions from Lead Alkyl Effluents

A method for the removal of organo-lead ions from dilute aqueous solutions containing such ions in amounts (calculated as lead) of up to 100 ppm, which comprises passing the solution through a bed of chemically clean zinc particles, wherein the solution is passed on a substantially continuous basis upwardly through the bed of zinc particles whilst maintaining said particles in a state of continuous agitation.
