PURPOSE:To obtain a light-gage strip having good flat ness at a good yield by injecting a base material melted by heating through a movable nozzle into the recess of a casting mold and cooling quickly the base material by a roll disposed behind the nozzle thereby controlling easily the shape such as thickness and size of the light-gage strip. CONSTITUTION:A melt of a base material such as ''Sendust'' or the like is ejected from a nozzle 6 to the end of the recess 2 of a casting mold 1 and is injected into the recess 2 by which molten metal is cooled and at the same time the nozzle 6 is moved along the recess 2. A roller 5 driven by the movement of the nozzle 6 moves to the other end of the mold 1 together with the nozzle 6 while cooling quickly the molten metal injected into the recess 2 and leveling off the molten metal to a uniform thickness. The molten metal injected into the recess 2 is cast in the mold 1 and after cooling, the casting is formed to a light- gage strip. The moving speed of the roller 5 is determined by the ejection rate of the molten metal from the nozzle 6 and the volume of the casting mold. Thus the shape of the resulted light-gage strip depends on shape of the recess 2 and has excellent uniformity and high dimensional accuracy.
