PURPOSE:To permit high-speed sailing of a semisubmersible vessel and permit free going-in and out from a harbor having a little water-depth by a slip having a little draft in low-speed sailing or stoppage of the ship. CONSTITUTION:A column for connecting an upper deck and a sumbersible body is formed to a structure having a variable length through a fixed stay 20 and a slidable stay 40 which are connected to the submersible body. Rollers are installed between stays 20 and 40, and one edge of the taking-in cable on a winch 33 installed onto the fixed stay 20 is installed onto the intermediate part of the slidable stay 40, and one edge of the taking-in cable on a winch 67 installed onto the upper deck is installed onto the upper edge of the slidable stay 40, and the length of the column is made variable by the operation of each winch. In high- speed sailing, the length of the column is increased, and the efficient sailing of a semisubmersible vessel is permitted, and in low-speed sailing or stoppage of the ship, the length of the column is reduced, and going into and out from a harbor having a little water-depth by a ship having a little draft is permitted.
