PURPOSE:To improve transient responsive property by igniting in ignition timing for a predetermined time right after running is shifted from idling to non-idling when engine cooling water temperature is lower than a set value in such shift time. CONSTITUTION:Whether or not engine cooling water temperature is higher than a predetermined value is judged in step 130. If it is not, i.e. the engine is cooled, advance is made to step 140, and whether or not a predetermined time has elapsed after running is shifted from idling to non-idling, is judged. When that shift is carried out within that time in cooling the engine, ignition timing right after the shift is used in step 170. Thus, the transient responsive property is improved.
