METHOD FOR CORRECTING THE IGNITION ADVANCE IN A TRANSIENT STATE OF AN INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE SMOOTHING OUT OF JERKS IN THE SPEED OF THE ENGINE

According to the method, the passage to the transient state of an engine is detected and then the ignition advance is corrected as a function of the time derivative of the inlet pressure (P), and substantially up to the outlet of the transient state. In a sampling system, we obtain the correction of the advance in the transient state (TACi) at the sampling instant (i) from the expression (I), in which Pi and Pi-1 represent samples of the intake pressure and k represents a factor between 0 and 1. The method applies to the damping of jerks during gear changes in a motor vehicle.
