TANKER AND APPARATUS FOR RECOVERY OF SPILLED OIL IN CRUDE OIL SPILLAGE ACCIDENT

PURPOSE:To prevent the pollution of sea water by recovering only crude oil by a method at a time when crude oil is discharged from the drain port of a tank, the drain valve is closed and an oil takeout valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:An oil takeout valve 4 and a drain valve 7 are closed, a valve 5 is opened, and a water suction pump 12 is actuated. Whereupon, the mixture of crude oil and sea water flows from an inlet 10 into a tank 1, where crude oil floats on the sea water and the sea water sinks. When the mixture liquid is filled up in the tank 1, the drain valve 7 is opened to discharge only the sea water from the drain port 8. At a time when the discharge of crude oil from the drain port 8 is found out, the valve 5 and the drain valve 7 are closed, and the valve 4 is opened to take out crude oil from an oil outlet 9. In case where crude oil flows out to the sea, only the crude oil is recovered by utilizing the smaller specific gravity of the crude oil, and the pollution of the sea water is prevented.
