Bactericidal and fungicidal compsn. comprises (1) a dispersion medium or solvent which is soluble in water and solid at room temp., and approx. equal amts. of (2) a water-soluble disinfectant and (3) a water-soluble bactericide-fungicide. The combination of (1), (2) and (3) will react with water to form, at least partly, formaldehyde. (1) makes up about 50% of the total wt. Also new is a cartridge consisting of a box filled with this compsn. and having at least one opening for releasing it into an aq. medium.
