Prodn. of triazolidino-pyridazine derivs. of formula (I) comprises reacting pyridazine-diones (II) with primary amines H2NR1 (III) and HCHO as described in the parent patent, but now water is used as the reaction medium. (R1 is 1-18C opt. branched alkyl, 5-8c cycloalkyl, norbornylmethyl, 3-8C hydroxy-, alkoxy- or alkylthio-alkyl, phenyl or benzyl. R2 is H or CH3). Pref. stoichiometric quantities of reactants are used. (I) have fungicidal and bactericidal properties and are useful as plant protection agents. By using water rather than organic solvents, soluble (I) are generated as solns. suitable directly for many purposes, while insoluble (I) separate as crystalline pptes. which are easily processed.
