Enol ether derivs. of oxicams are prepd. for use as an antiphlogistic. 3.0g of 2-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl)-4-hydroxy-2H- 1,2benzothiazine-3-carboxamide-1,1-dioxide, 2.5g of potassium carbonate, 2.50g of 2-oxo-5-bromo-2,5-dihydrofurane and 45ml of acetone is mixed and then refluxed in a reactor which is filled with nitrogen gas. After the separation, extraction, washing, drying and condensation, TLC is performed to give 4-[5-(2-oxo-2,5dihydrofuryl) oxy!-2-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl)-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3carboxamide 1,1- dioxide.
