The davit is suitable for a motor yacht and has a support pillar on which is mounted a horizontal dinghy-carrying arm. An upper pillar is positioned above the support pillar and carries a hoisting mechanism at its upper end. The mechanism is connected to a gangway, whose end is pivoted to the deck, in order to raise or lower the gangway.
