摘要
In continuous casting in which molten metal in the cast piece in the secondary cooling zone is stirred by a magnetic field and an electric current is applied to the molten metal part, a DC current is applied to the cast piece at a certain position. The applied current is drawn out of the cast piece at a position nearer the mould and at a position nearer to the end of the secondary cooling zone's end, and thus the current is drawn out in two directions, upward and downward, in parallel to the cast piece drawing direction. Permanent magnets are placed at the current applied part and the main direction of magnetisation is made parallel to the thickness direction of the cast piece; and thus the non-solidified molten metal is stirred. All of the applied current flows in the magnetised part and is effectively used for stirring molten metal in the cast piece.
