The process consists of (a) felling, cutting up, chipping and/or milling, in which the leaves are separated from the branches and reduced to small portions; (b) pre-separation by wt., in which the mixt. of wood and leaves is subjected to blowing or sucking, to give a fraction of wood alone and a fraction of wood and leaf; (c) sepn. by density, in which the latter fraction is subjected to an immersion process; and (d) collecting the floating leaf and decarted wood separately.
