The circuit sub-divides X/Y addresses into even or odd values anddetermines column and row locations of color picture elements. The hardware is minimal and suitable for integrated technology. The circuit includes a logic circuit in which fractional terms of an infinite series are summed and rounded, resulting in a carry term. Three full adders truncate and find the sum of the fractional terms of the infinite series. A discriminator then detects the resulting integers. Three or more full adders add these to the integer part of the binary numbers, resulting in the required quotients.
