The device monitors are stations and connecting lines in remote control networks. The stations include at least one device (PE) for recognition of a normal/high level on the incoming lines (xk, yk, zk) and a device (BSE) for connecting an incoming line (xk) on which the high level has been recognized to a receiver (E) and to the outgoing line (yg, zg). A device (IEE) recognises signal end, releases the engaged receiver after a first period and establishes a 'ready to transmit' condition after a second period after the high level has disappeared from all incoming lines (xk, yk, zk). At least one device (LUW) detects a second (low) level on the incoming lines, and a device transmits the level to the outgoing lines.
