A reposition sole with a distal lower-leg fragment is coupled to a ball-and-socket joint in order to compensate all axial errors in fractures of the lower leg. In external fixators, especially the fixator of the pipe system of the AO International, compensation of rotational errors in fractures of the lower leg is possible only to a limited extent, or the Steinmann's nail already driven into the distal fragment must be removed again if there is a rotational error and a new Steinmann's nail must be driven in once again in the measured angular position. On the other hand, the distal lower-leg fragment can be set in any position, according to the invention, by fixing the foot in a reposition sole which is in turn coupled to a ball-and-socket joint, so that, in particular, rotational errors can be avoided. In this optimum position the distal fragment can be fixed by a further Steinmann's nail.
