The invention relates to a folding blank for an erectable double box for packaging, in particular, envelopes, in which double box the two halves of the double box of mutually identical design lie opposite one another in the closed position with their flaps lying in the inner half of the broadside, starting from the longitudinal sides of the box and leaving a window free, and can be opened out from this position in the manner of a book, the blank forming a web portion located between the two flat portions forming the outer broadsides of the box. To achieve a stable and favourable constructional shape in terms of handling, it is proposed that the length of the web (2) corresponds approximately to its width and flat portions located on the other side of the edges (6) of the web (2) and cut free from the web (2) are designed to form inner transverse sides which can be opened out and folded in and, in the opened-out position of the double box, are disposed parallel to one another, it being possible for the flaps (5) of the longitudinal sides (3) to be folded up at least into the plane of the longitudinal sides.
