PURPOSE:To improve further various characteristics by sealing pores formed in the film by remelting when the film having resistance to heat, corrosion, and abrasion is formed on the surface of a base material by spraying thermally metals or ceramics. CONSTITUTION:A metal or an alloy 2 such as W, Ta, Mo, Ni-Cr, and Co-Cr having resistance to heat, corrosion, and abrasion is thermally sprayed on the surface of a base material 1 made of metals, nonferrous metals, or nonmetals, after the surface is roughed by sandblasting, chemical treatment, etc. Or ceramic powder such as alumina, zirconia, chromium oxide, and titanium oxide having excellent resistance to corrosion, heat, and abrasion or the ceramic powder mixed with metallic powder is thermally sprayed to form a film 3. Since many pores are present in the thermally sprayed films 2 and 3, a vacuum or local vacuum electron beam or a laser beam 6 is irradiated to remelt the thermally sprayed layer and to seal the pores, and said characteristics are further improved.
