MANUFACTURE OF NONORIENTED SILICON STEEL SHEET CAUSING HARDLY RIDGING

PURPOSE:To manufacture a nonoriented silicon steel sheet causing hardly ridging and having superior surface properties by hot rolling a continuously cast silicon steel slab contg. specified amounts of Si, Mn, Al and P at a specified total draft in a temp. range of the Ar3 transformation point and above. CONSTITUTION:A silicon steel slab having a composition contg., by weight, 1.7% Si, 1% Mn, 1% Al and 0.5% P is manufactured. The slab is hot rolled, pickled, cold rolled once to the final thickness, and subjected to continuous finish annealing to manufacture a nonoriented silicon steel sheet. In the hot rolling stage, the slab is hot rolled at =65% total draft in a temp. range of the Ar3 transformation point and above.
