PURPOSE:To produce continuously a polytetramethylene glycol ether by continuously polymerizing tetrahydrofuran in the presence of a super-strong acid anhydride in a rotating disk tower. CONSTITUTION:Tetrahydrofuran is mixed with 0.01-1mol% super-strong acid anhydride (e.g., trifluoromethanesulfonic acid) as a polymerization initiator, fed to a rotating disk tower as a reaction vessel and continuously polymerized at 0-60 deg.C for a residence time of 60-15min.
