PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful for qualitative and quantitative analysis of an unknown substance in high yield, by reacting a 4-amino-2,2,6,6- tetramethylpiperidin-oxyl and ethyl formate, and reacting the resultant 4-formamide derivative with phosphorus oxychloride. CONSTITUTION:A 4-amino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl is reacted with ethyl formate without requiring a solvent,e.g. benzene, to give a 4-formamide-2,2,6,6- tetramethylpiperindin-1-oxyl, which is then reacted with phosphorus oxychlorede to afford the aimed compound.
