Magneto-optical recording medium - having layer of terbium gadolinium iron cobalt copper alloy, has good corrosion resistance

摘要

A magneto-optical recording medium has a thin layer of an amorphous magnetic alloy of composition ((Gd1-xTb)1-z(Fe1-yCoy)z)1-wCuw in which x = 0.1-1; y = 0-0.8; z = 0.5-0.9 and w = 0.005-0.2, and having an easily magnetisable axis normal to a surface of the thin layer. Pref. the thickness of the thin layer is 3-500 nm.
