The rope hoist has two pulleys blocks movable in relation to each other in a cylindrical housing. The stationary block pulleys are supported in bearings in an intermediate flange. The movable block is coupled by piston rods to a piston working in a compressed-air cylinder mounted on the intermediate flange on the opposite side to the movable block. The intermediate flange (14) forms a closed housing section of the hoist (1), and the housing (15) accommodating the pulleys (13) of the movable block and the cylinder (18) accommodating the adjusting piston (19) are fixed to it to form a sealed joint. The flange has one or more recesses (22e running in the axial direction, and in which the piston rods (21) rigidly coupling piston and movable pulley block (16) are guided.
