Inorganic salts of N-(2-diisopropylamino ethyl) 2-(2-oxo 1-pyrrolidine) acetamide, are made by reaction of ethyl glycinate hydrochloride and diisopropylamino ethylamine in an inert organic non-alcoholic solvent, in presence or absence of metal hydrides or organo-metallic cpds. at between ambient temp. and b.pt., for 1-30 h. This is followed by treatment with gamma-butyrolactone under similar conditions, and finally by treatment with an inorganic acid to form the salt.
