Improved imaging compositions and film are provided that employ a tellurium imaging compound, a reductant precursor, a masked reducing a agent, a source of labile hydrogen and an organic compound that improves the speed, developed optical density and/or background fog. These organic compounds include the following: CHEM and CHEM where R1 and R6 each and independently are hydrogen, alkyl of three carbons or less, hydroxyl, phenyl, benzyl or alkoxy of three carbons or less, R2, R3, R4, R5, R7 and R8 each and independently are hydrogen, alkyl of three carbon atoms or less, phenyl or benzyl; and compounds of the formulae: CHEM where R9, R10, R11 and R12 each and independently are hydrogen, alkyl of three carbon atoms or less, phenyl, benzyl, methylene, ethylidene or propylidene.
