Monoclonal antibodies to cytomegalovirus and methods for the diagnosis in vitro of infections by human cytomegaloviruses, using monoclonal antibodies which react with a cytomegalovirus-induced protein kinase

The diagnostic method consists in bringing cells possibly carrying the cytomegalovirus infection into contact with a monoclonal antibody which reacts with a human cytomegalovirus-induced polypeptide of molecular weight 68,000 and which possess protein kinase activity. Detection of the reaction is preferably performed by immunofluorescence.
