For a common hot water boiler for burning briquet fuels, a top cover plate (3) with an air hole (1) has a cone shaped diffuser (4) on its lower side to form an air chamber (5). Underneath the diffuser (4) is a collector cover (6) having a central gas escape hole (7) and a funnel (9) with air holes (8), the funnel surface being slanted in parallel to the diffuser and forming a lower air chamber (11) between the cover (6) and the funnel plate (9). The chambers are connected by common air tubes (12). When poison gas is drawn out through the flow path (10), fresh air is also drawn out through the flow path (10), fresh air is also drawn through holes (8) from the chamber (11) to burn and detoxicatethe poison gas.
