A wine and fruit press is described which preferably comprises a closed, upright or horizontal cylindrical container. One or more flexible and heavily perforated press cloth chambers is/are mounted inside the container, preferably at the two end points so as to be rotatable or fixed on one side. The press cloth chambers are made to rotate in opposite directions by means of a drive device, which causes the press cloth to be subjected to torsion and results in pressing of the substance permeated with liquid. The pulverising and discharging elements situated in the press cloth chambers loosen and convey the solid substances to the discharging point. The pressing and discharging speed is achieved inter alia via the blocking and regulating devices situated at one or both ends of the press cloth chambers.
