A wine and fruit press is described, which preferably consists of a cylindrical container, the wall of which is designed as a basket. A hollow shaft with an elastic press cloth bag mounted and wound on it is mounted inside the basket. The other end of the press cloth bag is attached to a device which extends parallel to the hollow shaft. A pressing means is introduced into the press cloth bag via pipes and valves, the press cloth bag being simultaneously unwound via the hollow shaft and then pressed towards the wall of the basket. The material to be pressed situated between the press cloth bag and the basket is then pressed out.
