Simplified moisture determination of solids (bulk solids) by weighing the slurry

In order to determine the moisture percentage of solids, the weight of the moist material and of the dry material must be known. In the conventional moisture determination method, water is evaporated in order to obtain the dry weight of the solid. In this simplified moisture determination described, the dry weight of the solid is determined by calculating the proportion of solids of a suspension (slurry). The advantages achieved by the invention consist particularly in the fact that, in order to determine the moisture percentage, time-consuming drying and subsequent calculation is no longer necessary, but that instead this value can be read off directly.
