In a machine for feeding material to be conveyed into pipelines of pneumatic conveying installations, in particular a pneumatic machine in underground operation for dam construction materials, by means of a double-tapered cellular wheel, the cells of which are defined by the wheel spokes, a hub, the rim and the machine housing, which is in alignment with the central radial plane of the cellular wheel and one half of which has staggered openings for loading the cells, for introducing the delivery air and for relieving the pressure on the emptied cells depending on the direction of rotation of the wheel, while the other housing half is provided with a discharge opening which is arranged opposite the inlet opening for the delivery air and to which a conveying line is attached, provision is made according to the invention for the housing to be arranged horizontally and for the cell wheel to be laid with a horizontal axis and to be driven via a horizontal shaft with its hub arranged on the shaft in such a way as to be fixed against rotation, and for the loading opening of the housing to have a chute deflecting the material to be conveyed out of the charging direction, while the cell in each case in alignment with the inlet and discharge opening serves as a blast trough which forms the connection between the delivery-air line and the conveying line essentially aligned with the latter.
