The subject of the addition relates to the technical sector of ammunition. The wad is notable in that the rear sealing skirt 3 is separated from the front skirt 1d receiving the charge of lead shot by a transverse partition 1h, the said sealing skirt 3 cooperating in its rear part, on the powder side, with an insert 4 made of elastically deformable flexible material and shaped so as to the penetrate into the said skirt 3 during firing, for the purpose, on the one hand, of ensuring perfect sealing by being laid against the separating partition 1h and, on the other hand, of assisting the expansion of the said skirt 3 when it leaves the muzzle of the barrel.
