DETECTION OF ROVING POSITION IN ROVING MACHINE AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To improve detection accuracy of a roving position, by repeating ON and OFF one after another while controlling so that at least adjacent detection elements may not be in an operation state with each other in the detection elements of the roving position. CONSTITUTION:At least adjacent detection elements are controlled so that the elements may not be put into an operation state at the same time in order to prevent light emitted from a light emitting element (A) from entering another, particularly a receptor element (B) of the adjacent detection elements to cause an erroneous information source. The detection elements are turned on or off one by one from above or odd-numbered and even-numbered detection elements are alternately turned on or off. Thereby the distance between the detection elements can be shortened.
