PURPOSE:To realize a function element with high performance by using an LiNbO3 single crystal substrate having a specific Euler's angle. CONSTITUTION:The performance exponent of Euler's angle (90 deg., 90 deg., 100 deg.) is large, which corresponds to the propagation in the -Y direction, 10 deg. from the +Z axis in the + or -X-cut plane of an LiNbO3 single crystal. Further, the electromechanical coupling coefficient is large in the cut-plane and propagation direction. Furthermore, the performance exponent of the substrate in the cut- plane and the propagation direction in the range of (90 deg.+ or -10 deg., 90 deg.+ or -10 deg., 100 deg.+ or -10 deg.) is large and the electromechanical coupling coefficient is large. In case of the Euler's angle (90 deg., 90 deg., 95 deg.), as shown in 5(X) in figure, the performance exponent nearly coincident with the theoretical calculation is obtained. Thus, the cut-plate and the propagation direction are practical in the substrate.
