TRANSMISSION WITH BACK-DRIVING MECHANISM

PURPOSE:To provide a transmission, which is arranged such that gears can be shifted only when a back-driving gear shifting fork is located at its neutral position, by forming the fork with a projection to be fitted into a lead groove formed in a back-driving cam and another projection to be fitted into a lead groove formed in a forward-driving cam for restricting the shift of a back-driving fork. CONSTITUTION:A back-driving gear shifting lever 11 is fixed at its base end to a gear shifting shaft 12, which has a back-driving gear shifting cam 13 fixed thereto, and a projection 14a formed on a back-driving gear shifting fork 14 is fitted in a lead groove 13a of the cam 13. Further, another projection 14b is formed on the fork 14 and it is fitted in a lead groove 1d formed in a forward- driving cam 1 for restricting the shift of the back-driving fork 14. With such an arrangement, shifting of the back-driving fork is allowed only when the forward- driving cam 1 is located at its neutral position where the positional relationship between the lead groove 1d and projection 14b is as shown by the solid line in Fig. 7a of the drawing.
