PURPOSE:To simplify the construction to enable speed changing operations with high reliability and to prevent mistakes in speed changing operations and damage to the synchromesh mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Main transmission gear shift shafts 11, 12, 13 are operated respectively by shift levers 18, 19. A subtransmission gear shift fork 22 is operated by an air cylinder 23 to cahge the speed. When a shaft 17 is moved, if a push rod 50 is held back by a low speed shifting stage 20, a selector valve 49 is connected to a flow path 47 to move a cylinder 23, that is, a subtransmission into the low speed position. If the push rod 50 falls into the high speed stage 21, the subtransmission is moved into the high speed position. And then if the shaft 17 is rotated, shifting heads 14, 15, 16 are operated to change the speed, thus attaining nine forward speeds and one reverse speed.
