PURPOSE:To check the performance of a stabilizer to be replaced for washing and to control the replenishing amt. of the stabilizer to be replaced for washing by measuring the concn. of the iron ions incorporated into the processing soln. prior to a processing stage by the stabilizer to be replaced for washing or the iron ions incorporated into the stabilizer in the stabilizer to be replaced for washing. CONSTITUTION:An exposed silver halide color photographic sensitive material is subjected to color developing, then successively to a bleaching process, fixing process or bleach fixing process and in succession, said material is processed by the stabilizer to be replaced for washing. The concn. of the iron ions incorporated into the processing soln. prior to the processing stage by said stabilizer to be replaced for washing or the iron ions incorporated into said stabilizer to be replaced for washing in the stabilizer to be replaced for washing is measured. The performance of the stabilizer to be replaced for washing is checked by the measured concn. of the iron ions and the replenishing amt. of the stabilizer to be replaced for washing is controlled.
