LECTIN-CONTAINING ANTI-VIRAL VACCINES FOR DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND METHOD OF PREPARATION

ABSTRACTAnti-viral vaccines for domestic animals are preparedfrom glycoprotein envelope whole virus or antigenicglycoprotein obtained therefrom by complexing the glyco-protein antigenic agent with a lectin, which is preferablya mitogenic lectin. The recovery of the immunizing agentfrom an aqueous solution or suspension is facilitatedsince the lectin-glycoprotein complex is readily recoverable.The mitogenic lectin administered in the vaccine with theglycoprotein antigen can enhance the anamnestic response, ineffect, acting as an adjuvant.
