Device for photo-surgery and in particular for keratotomy of the eye, comprising an operating light source, of which the light can be applied to the region of tissu to be operated on. The above device is characterized by the fact that it uses, for the production of light in a range of wavelengths between 2.7 microns and 3.3 microns an operating light source comprising a Raman cell pumped by a pulsed laser. It is thus possible to obtain a radiation in the 3 micron region, the power of which enables the use of photo-surgery and whose "beam quality" allows remarkable focusing.
