PURPOSE:To make it possible to displace a ship with a marine engine being stopped. by providing auxiliary propelling units each having a propelling nozzle for jetting ultrasonic water stream to provide a horizontal thrust, and each being angularly variable, in the front and rear of a deck. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary propelling unit 10 is attached to a ship deck at two positions in the bow and stern sections of the ship, respectively, each having a plurality of propelling nozzles 13. Further each propelling nozzle 13 is formed therein with an air introduction ring 16 opened to the inside of an enlarged hollow chamber 14 and has a plurality of air introduction holes 13a formed in the inner peripheral section of the ring 16, outside air introduction holes 17, an inside nozzle 15 and jet holes 18. Sea water is sucked through a filter 20 into a water feed pump 19 which pressurizes the introduced sea water before it is jetted from the inside nozzle 15, so that the outside air is introduced through the air introducing holes 16a. Accordingly, collapse of the introduced air generates ultrasonic vibration resulting in an ultrasonic water stream being created for propulsion. This propulsion is change in its angle by a direction control device 28. Accordingly, due to the combination of the horizontal angles of the two propelling units 10 the ship may be displaced back and forth and for turning.
