PURPOSE:To properly set up the changing time of a record stylus by electrically counting or memorizing the progress state of wear of the record stylus. CONSTITUTION:In order to know the progress state of wear of a record stylus 3, a terminal 9 outputting clock frequency generated at the time of a high wear state when the record stylus 3 is put on a record disk is connected to an input terminal of a counter circuit 10. The progress state generated on the record stylus is counted up by the counter circuit 10 as the progress state value and a terminal outputting the value of the progress state generated on the stylus 3 is connected to a numeral display device capable of displaying numerals. Since the current using progress state of the record stylus 3 can be known, the changing time of the record stylus 3 can be always known. Consequently, the sound grooves of the record disk can be prevented from being worn due to the wear of the record stylus 3 and a user can be prevented from being nervous about the wear.
