PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition, effective in prophylaxis and remedy of swine dysentery, promotion of animal growth, etc., and having no problem of toxicity, containing as a component an antibiotic substance selected from WS-1627A, WS-1627B, WS-1627C, WS-1627D and salts thereof. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition is prepared by using one or two or more species selected from WS-1627A, WS-1627B, WS-1627C, WS-1627D and salt thereof as an active ingredient. The WS-1627A, WS-1627B, WS-1627C and WS-1627D are obtained from a culture produced by cultivating a bacterium producing said antibiotics belonging to genus Streptomyces noboritoensis subsp. amamiensis. The WS-1627C is a novel substance having following characteristics. Appearance; White powder. Melting point; 110-113 deg.C. Molecular weight: 513. Elementary analysis (%); C 53.65; H 6.33; N 2.95. Solubility; Soluble in water, etc., insoluble in acetone, etc.
